His award-winning work has appeared in calendars and publications such as Adirondack Life magazine, the Adirondack Life calendar and Art Business News. He is currently working on his upcoming book, Beat of an Adirondack Heart. His fine-art prints have appeared in numerous exhibitions at venues such as Cleveland Botanical Garden, Lake Placid Center for the Arts, the Fine Arts Association (Willoughby, OH), Arts Center/Old Forge (Old Forge, NY) and Lake Metroparks (Kirtland, OH) and are also on display in many private and corporate display spaces across the country including those of Floraline Display Products, InfoRad, Life Cycle Strategies, Peak Performance Sports Medicine, International Paper, KeyCorp, Prudential Insurance, Thrivent Financial and Xerox.

In his workshops, John encourages participants to view nature without any preconceptions, utilizing all of their senses in creating images that reflect a participant's unique inner landscape. John greatly enjoys sharing his extensive knowledge of the Adirondack Park and its many plant and animal inhabitants, in the hope of nurturing an appreciation of the "essence" of our wild spaces that participants will take away and be able to draw on in their future work.

John has enthusiastically presented his sold-out workshop programs and lectures in many venues including Cleveland Botanical Garden, Franklin Park Conservatory, the Fine Arts Association and Lake Metroparks, in addition to API.

John is founder and Director of the Adirondack Photography Institute.
