World-class instruction, incredible Adirondack beauty...
Spring in the Finger Lakes region of Central New York is a particularly beautiful time of year with abundant water flowing in the waterfalls highlighted by the fresh, lime-green foliage of the season.
After an initial orientation session on Thursday night, we will spend portions of three days exploring and photographing some of the most spectacular waterfalls in the region around Ithaca and Watkins Glen, NY including Taughannock Falls, Robert H. Treman, and Watkins Glen State Parks. Individual field instruction will be provided as well as indoor instructional sessions and critiques. In the field instruction, we will emphasize the importance of effective composition and proper exposure. Techniques for combining multiple exposures of the same scene will be covered in detail in the indoor sessions along with digital workflow techniques using Lightroom and Photoshop.
In addition to the state parks listed above, we will also visit some lesser known waterfalls as time allows. Instructor Joe LeFevre lives in Central New York and is very familiar with the waterfalls in this area. Mark is a former geologist and brings a photographer's insight into the geologic history of the region. Both are committed to taking you to the most photogenic waterfalls in the region and helping you to take your waterfall images to the next level.
