Overview

Deep within each of us lies a desire to express ourselves through our photography. If we learn to let go, and try new things, we can tap into that creativity that lies within us all, and create truly expressive images - pictures that show our vision, our interpretation, of the world around us. This workshop is designed to nurture that creative spirit, and to guide you in developing your vision along with the skills to express that vision. Classroom time and field sessions will introduce you to techniques that will help you see more creatively, with a goal to guide you in moving beyond the ordinary picture into the expressive image. The stunning environment of the Adirondack region will provide us with an abundance of beauty to tap into photographically.

Digital photography offers great opportunities for experimenting and for artistic expression. We will be discussing creative techniques such as panning, montages, multiple exposures, and selective focus techniques, along with Brenda’s core discussions on seeing the light, advanced composition, and visual design. We will also discuss methods to creatively stretch and to develop creative vision. As time permits, we will cover digital workflow, and some basic Photoshop techniques.
