Overview   June in the Adirondacks is a time of wonder, wildflowers abound as the earth warms and summer approaches. The forest floor becomes populated with beauty, waiting to be captured. Join us as we explore the vast Adirondack Park and the bounty of wildfowers it holds. We will be joined by an expert guide from the area, to ensure that we find all the hidden beauty the park has to offer, even in little known areas.
Flowers make perfect photographic subjects for a variety of reasons: they are colorful and ever changing, they come in many different varieties and are usually static. Best of all, they absolutely love to pose for the camera! Participants will learn how to capture the true beauty of flowers, how to really work them as subjects, how to create flower portraits, and how to best capture each species we encounter in the park.
There are many varieties of wildflowers blooming in the park in June, we are expecting to find Orchids, several varieties of Lady Slippers, White and Purple Violets, Frog Orchid, Southern Twayblade, Gold Thread, Trailing Arbutus, Spring Beauty, Wood Sorrel, Trout Lily, Trillium, Red Columbine, Wild Bleeding Heart, Canadian Anemone, Star Flower, Twin Flower, Purple Avens, Cuckoo Flower, Foam Flower, Wild Oats, Twisted Stalk, Pale Laurel, and Wild Azalea.
Schedule

Participants will shoot when the light is best for flower photography, generally earlier in the morning and later in the afternoon, avoiding mid-day, weather permitting.  Overcast skies will find us shooting for longer periods. When we aren't shooting, we'll be working on image processing, or participating in critiques and discussions.
