Overview |
|
Nature is the ultimate
testament to possibility. Digital imaging technology has
tremendous ability to make new expressions possible. |
| This
workshop is about taking your photography to a higher
level of expression. The place where nature and heart
acknowledge each other's presence. A thoroughly personal
place where intimate
images are nurtured and
grown. |
| We will visit great
shooting locations at a time when the area is awash in
vibrant color. While in the field, John will assist
participants in expanding their repertoire of expressive
techniques through hands-on demonstrations. |
|
Some of the techniques (among many)
that will be explored are:
|
|
- multiple exposure
- image overlay
- panning
- expressive zoom
- expressive focus
- High Dynamic Range (HDR) imagery
|
|
Note
- As not all cameras have the same set of advanced features, we
will explore these techniques using both in-camera features and
by use of post-processing in software such as Photoshop. |
|
As part of the experience, we will
take part in group-critique of the weekend's
work in a supportive and constructive atmosphere. This
exposure to the creative ideas of others is a vital step in the
expansion of our own creative base. |
|
Schedule |
|
Weather-permitting, participants
will typically shoot for several hours around sunrise
and sunset, during the best light of the day. |
|
|
|
Afternoons are generally used
for presentations, critique and discussions. However, if
exceptional lighting conditions present themselves the
instructor may opt to shoot during the afternoon also. |
